Listen Out is a party for all and aims to be an inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable experience for everyone. We are constantly working on ways to improve the festival experience for our patrons. We understand that when deciding about whether to attend a music festival, knowledge is power, so here are some things that might be useful for you to know before you arrive.

The information below is constantly being updated. If anything is noted as not yet known, check back soon for updates.

Accessibility Ticket
If you have any accessibility requirements, we strongly recommend purchasing an Accessibility ticket when buying your ticket to Listen Out Melbourne. There is no price difference for this ticket, but it helps ensure you receive Festival Accessibility information from us before the show and will help us to provision adequate resources on the day.

16+ Accessible Patrons
In Melbourne, 16+ patrons must be accompanied by a responsible adult. There will be a Youth Team on site wearing green Hi Vis who are able to assist if you cannot find your responsible adult or need any help.

There is a dedicated accessible entry lane for 16+ patrons. 16+ accessible patrons will have access to all the facilities listed below except for VIP.

Carers / Companion Cards
We know that equal access can sometimes mean being accompanied by a Carer. Listen Out Melbourne offers complimentary carer/companion tickets for companion card holders. If you’d like to request a companion ticket, visit the link below and fill in the request form. You’ll need your Moshtix order number (from when you bought your own ticket to Listen Out) and a copy of your companion card.

IMPORTANT- We are more than happy to facilitate any companion swaps should your companion need to be replaced with someone else during the day. Just ask the Front Gate Manager or the Accessibility Manager and they will help organise this.

Accessibility Hotline
To help improve the experience for our accessible patrons we will be operating an accessible hotline on the day of Listen Out Melbourne. The hotline phone will be monitored by the Accessibility Manager for the duration of the day and can be reached by phone call and text message. Please feel free to contact the hotline if you’re facing any access issues, need support, or have any questions related to accessibility at Listen Out Melbourne.

We strongly recommend contacting the number through WhatsApp, as mobile phone reception is likely to drop out as the festival gets busier.

Accessibility Liaisons
To help ensure a positive, safe experience for our accessible patrons, Listen Out Melbourne will have a dedicated Accessibility Liaison team on site, lead by an Accessibility Manager. They will be stationed on the viewing platforms and roaming throughout the festival. They can be reached by contacting the Accessibility Hotline number or asking any of our crew in yellow shirts. They’re there to help in any way they can so please reach out if you need assistance.

Assistance Animals
Assistance animals are welcome at this event as we understand that equal access can sometimes mean having one accompany you. Please ask one of our friendly staff or Accessible Liaison for assistance. Assistance animals are trained to assist a person with disability and meet standards of hygiene and behaviour that are appropriate for an animal in a public place. Getting to the Festival

Parking
There will be accessible parking available close to the event site. These spots need to be pre booked, so please email [email protected] or phone 02 9699 2454 before the event day to secure one.

Pick Up / Drop Off
The pick up and drop off location is on Dalmore Road near Caribbean Drive and will be operational throughout the event. It can only be reached by Caribbean Drive from Ferntree Gully Road. There is a continuous path of travel along a paved footpath from the drop off point to the accessible entrance.

Accessible Entry
The accessible entry point into the event is through the Accessible Lane which will be clearly marked with large signage on the tent at the main entry at the end of Caribbean Drive. If you need assistance during the entry process, please see the Guest Services Team near the accessible entry lanes or speak to the Front Gate Manager (who can be spotted by their lanyard and radio).

There will be dedicated accessible entry lanes for 16+ ticketholders, 18+ ticketholders.

This will also be the exit point when leaving Listen Out.

Moving Around The Site
The Listen Out Melbourne festival site is on grass however there are paved footpaths and existing roadways throughout the site that will allow you to travel to most of the amenities and stages without leaving the path. This includes accessible platforms, toilets, food, medical and bars. If you require assistance to move from one area of the site to another, we encourage you to contact the Accessibility Hotline or ask any of our event staff for assistance.

Accessible Toilets
We have ample accessible toilets on site. There is one in the VIP area, at medical and at every block of toilets. Check the accessible patron map for their exact locations.The accessible toilets are identifiable by this symbol.

Accessible Viewing Platform
There will be an accessibility viewing platform near the Atari and 909 stages at Listen Out Melbourne. The viewing platforms are solely for the use of our accessibility patrons plus one other. There is a continuous concrete path of travel from the Accessible Entry to both viewing platforms. Chairs are provided on the platform as well as an accessible toilet. The viewing platform is identifiable by this symbol.

Event Facilities
At Listen Out Melbourne the bars, Anything Anytime (Cloakroom/Recycling/Phone Charging/Info) and Merchandise will have Accessible service points with lowered counters. These will have signage above them that reads “Accessible”.

AUSLAN
Listen Out Melbourne will have AUSLAN services available for select artists. We may add AUSLAN to more artists listed below.

Captioning
Listen Out will not have captioning.

Lighting/Special Effects Considerations
Please bear in mind that some artists at Listen Out request special effects for their performances. This can include but is not limited to Flames, CO2 and Close Proximity Fireworks. To make sure you’re aware of what to expect, please check back here closer to the show for more information on the special effects at each stage.

First Aid
Listen Out Melbourne will be operating an advanced Medical Facility and a crowd care, Harm Minimisation space by DanceWize. Inside the event, these tents are next to each other opposite the front entry and are noted on the accessible patron map. There will be an external DanceWize tent at the front entry for any patrons who need care before they enter the festival.

There is an Under 18 Youth Zone for any under 18 patrons who need some time out for any reason or cannot find their guardians. This is located near the Medical tent opposite the front entry. The DanceWize team will also be out roaming the festival in their Purple Hi Vis, handing out sunscreen and lollies and are always up for a chat. They’re there to support you if you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsafe, or are unwell.

Emergency Evacuation Procedures
In the unlikely event of a site evacuation, please make yourself known to the event staff and security and follow the directions to the closest Assembly Area. The Accessibility Liaison team will be available to assist you in this process if required and is briefed to travel to the Accessible viewing platform to help and then to the Accessible exit point.
